A small group camping safari (accommodation upgrade available)from Darwin to Litchfield National Park and Kakaudu National Park including highlights such as Mary River Wetlands, Maguk, Ubirr, Jim Jim & Twin Falls. 4WD   © 4WD Mitsubishi or Isuzu- 16 seats front facing air-conditioned vehicle. Our 4WD’s (16 - 20 seaters) have spacious cabs with ample legroom and forward facing seats for increased comfort and a view for appreciation of the scenery.
Suitability:
Level 2 fitness   © Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 6-8kms per day. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking and exploring the wonders of Kakadu and Litchfield National parks.

Permanent Campsites - have permanently erected tents(multi-share), permanent cooking facilities and purpose-built fire pits, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets. Evening meals are BBQ style dinners, prepared by the guide (with passenger participation) and eaten as a group. Breakfasts are continental and lunches are picnic style.

Itinerary: Dry Season Program
(From May/June to November - depending on seasonal conditions and park access)

Day 1 - Darwin to Mary River

A refreshing start to your day: the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park, followed by the spectacular Mary River Wetlands. Birds aren't the only wildlife abundant around here; keep your eyes out for lurking crocodiles on our private river cruise! A secluded campsite at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge is where we'll stay tonight. (LD)

Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu

Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, our first stop this morning. Clamber to the top of a rocky lookout for fabulous views over the Nardab floodplain. Next it's on to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where a hike is rewarded with a reviving swim in the plunge pools. Tonight we stay at our permanent camp within Kakadu NP. (BLD)

Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin

Get ready for some 4WD action today on our way to Jim Jim Falls! Once we get there, we'll hike to the base of the falls before continuing on to Twin Falls . Feel the beauty of the stunning gorge and powerful falls from the National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience. The impressive scenery will continue to amaze you as we journey back to Darwin in the afternoon. (BL).

• Seasons are not set dates, they are based on access, safety and other guidelines. The suggested dates above are based on previous years with minimal wet season rainfall. Please note the falls actually stop flowing during the 'Dry Season' giving the hiker the chance to walk up to the memorial and tranquil Jim Jim Gorge base pools.
