Day 1: Alice Springs to Banka Banka
We pass by the Tropic of Capricorn then stop at the Barrow Creek Pub. Learn about the early struggles of bush telecommunications at Barrow Creek's historic Telegraph Station - it'll make your mobile phone seem like the space age! Precariously balanced on their rocky perch are the Devils Marbles, a site sacred to its traditional owners. Last stop for today is our camp at an outback station and if the weather's good, you can take a dip in the pretty waterhole. (LD)

Day 2: Banka Banka to Katherine Gorge
No visit to the Top End would be complete without a visit to the famed Daly Waters pub, a quintessential outback roadhouse and 'watering hole' for travellers from far and wide. The tiny town is also home to Australia's first international airport (but you wouldn't guess it!). Mataranka lies in the heart of the 'never-never', and you'll feel a million miles from anywhere as you soak in the steamy thermal springs. As the day draws to a close, we reach our overnight camp at stunning Katherine Gorge. (BLD)

Day 3: Katherine Gorge to Darwin
The gorge is all yours this morning, with a half day to spend canoeing or cruising (at own expense & seasonal) the spectacular waters. Want to see more? Jump aboard a helicopter flight (at own expense) which will take you high above the vast gorge system. We'll head to Darwin after a stop at idyllic Edith Falls. (BL)

Day 4: Darwin
A free day to explore or chill out (accommodation, meals and activities at own expense).
Overnight accommodation is not included.

Day 5: Darwin to Mary River & Kakadu National Park
We head towards Kakadu stopping to view birdlife in its natural habitat on the Marrakai Floodplain. Keep a watch for 'crocs' and other wildlife on a private crocodile and wildlife cruise on Corroboree Billabong, which is part of the Mary River system. Ubirr Rock is recognised as one of the most famous Aboriginal rock art and cultural areas in the world and a climb to the top will reward you with a 360° view over floodplains and the Arnhem Land Escarpment. (LD)

Day 6: Kakadu National Park
There's 4WD action today as hit the track into Twin Falls. Here we'll take an informative boat cruise with an Aboriginal guide through Twin Falls Gorge. Our 4WD traverses through sandy creeks into mighty Jim Jim Falls, where you'll have the opportunity to cool off with a swim in the plunge pool. We'll decide during the day which climb we take, but you'll get to the top of either Twin or Jim Jim Falls today - it'll be a rugged climb but worth it for the stunning views! (BLD)

Day 7: Kakadu to Darwin
We start the day with an exclusive Aboriginal cultural experience where you'll learn about the Dreamtime and traditional bush-tucker and be included in some fun and hands on activities. Next up is a visit to Barramundi Gorge where you can spend time exploring, rock climbing, relaxing or swimming in the waterfalls. We begin our journey back to Darwin, with one last stop at White Lily Billabong to admire the congregation of birdlife and the water lily covered floodplains. (BL)
