ITINERARY:
(H) - Backpackers Hostel
(FS) - Farmstay
Day 1 Perth - Kalbarri (H)
Jump aboard as we head north to Nambung National Park and
explore the fascinating formations of the Pinnacles Desert.
Our journey continues along coastal roads passing by seaside
fishing towns until we arrive at some local sand dunes. Get
ready for an adrenaline hit! Sand-boarding on local dunes
will get your blood rushing. In the afternoon we pass through
the major port of Gerladton, before reaching our overnight
stop in the seaside resort town of Kalbarri. (LD)
Day 2 Kalbarri - Shark Bay
(H)
It's an early start this morning for a short drive to Murchison
Gorge in Kalbarri National Park. Here, we explore Nature's
Window, the Loop and Z-Bend Gorge - an exhilarating 150 metre
descent into the heart of the gorge - before an invigorating
swim in the tranquil water pools (seasonal). Feeling adventurous?
Give abseiling a go (at own expense). Lunch is well-earned
today! In the afternoon we head towards Monkey Mia and enter
Shark Bay World Heritage area, stopping at gorgeous Shell
Beach before reaching our overnight stop at Denham. (BLD)
Day 3 Shark Bay - Coral
Bay (H)
We hit the beach after a short drive across the Peron Peninsula
and make our way to the world famous Monkey Mia dolphins -
have your camera ready for some great shots of these entrancing
animals. From here, we head to Carnarvon, with a stop at a
banana plantation (the chocolate coated frozen bananas sold
here are a yummy treat!) From Carnarvon we finish the day
by driving the highway to Coral Bay, the Jewel of the North.
(B,L,D)
Day 4 Coral Bay & Exmouth
(H)
It's time to explore! Spend today discovering the wonders
of the Ningaloo Reef and its fantastic marine wildlife. Snorkelling,
cruising on a glass-bottom boat, quad bike tours or a joy
flight over the reef are just some of the ways you can check
out this beautiful aquatic park (all at own expense). Late
this afternoon we make the short trip to Exmouth. (BLD)
Day 5 Exmouth (H)
Another day of freedom and relaxation! Laze around on the
beach or head underwater to go diving (optional). Otherwise,
we'll tour around the area including Turquoise Bay and Yardie
Creek. (BL)
Day 6 & 7 Exmouth - Perth
(FS)
We hit the road at 7.00am to begin our trip back to Perth,
staying overnight at Northbrook Farmstay for our last evening
together. In the morning, it's a short trip to the Principality
of Hutt River, where you'll be fascinated with Prince Leonard's
story and why he seceded from Australia - a unique story!
Bring your passport along to add another stamp! From here,
our journey south towards Perth continues. Along the way we
stop at Greenough Wildlife Park, which is home to a python
breeding centre. Get friendly with a snake (and other native
animals) if you're game! We arrive back in Perth in the late
afternoon, where we farewell our new friends. (BLD day 6,
BL day 7)
